Director of Retail Operations – France (M/W)

Your mission!

The Director of Retail France is responsible for overseeing the planning, budgeting, implementing and then day to day running of the LGM businesses in France, currently the primary focus for this role will be: Event Retail Operations delivery for Rugby World Cup France 2023 and another major global event in France in line with the contracted rights given to Legends to perform by the Partners.

Reporting directly directly to the SVP International Retail of Legends, your main responsibilities will be:

  1. Relationship management – External and Partners

The Director of Retail France will also have responsibility for the day-to-day coordination with the Local Organising Committees (LOC) and the respective venue managers to ensure the smooth delivery of the event retail customer experience.

  1. Commercial delivery – Cost control and driving sales – P&L budgets

The key objective of the role is to deliver a profitable event retailing experience in line with the agreed budgets and commercial terms of the agreement between Legends and the Partners.

A key delivery of this role is the ownership of the event retail experience – optimizing and trading to deliver maximum conversion and revenue as well as executing to reflect the core values of the Partners Brand and enhancing this Brand value through the retail experience in their eyes and that of their customers.

  1. Customer experience and journey

There also must be a key focus on the customer journey focusing on delivering an exceptional customer experience through a high attention to detail in the smooth running of every retail event. The Head of Retail France is responsible for driving continual improvements on all events and locations to increase customer engagement, optimizing shopping journeys and the conversion.

  1. Operational excellence

They will be responsible for all the operational delivery in a timely manner and the coordination of all stakeholders internal and external to deliver the event retail.

They will be an influencing voice in trading decisions, marketing, operational set up and delivery, budget spend, staffing, products and all other aspects of the event retail by location and country.

  1. Staffing, Management and Leadership – Internal and team in France

Drive customer service levels to be exceptional leading by example for event workforce and carrying out thorough training and ongoing feedback and performance management of delivery of service during events

Ensure to recruit the workforce needed and manage the overall deployment of staff with the event store managers and supervisors

Your profile!

  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience running / operating Retail, ideally in an international sports event environment
  • Bilingual speaker in French and English
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience and/or training
  • Excellent influencing skills to support needs of the internal and external stakeholder teams at every level
  • Demonstrates the ability to make quick decisions in a fast paced and pressured environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and extremely organized with the ability to multi-task
  • Must be able to work in a team environment with internal and external stakeholders across many international platforms and countries
